Graduating with high distinction and with over 10 years experience in health, Ben Goodwin enjoys all aspects of podiatry with a special interest in lower limb biomechanics, musculoskeletal pain, sports podiatry and diabetic foot care.
With his warm reassuring nature, Ben is gentle in his treatment and is passionate in delivering best professional podiatric care. With a keen interest in runners, Ben specialises in heel pain (including plantar fasciitis), soft tissue injuries, forefoot pain and growth plate injuries seen in children and adolescents. As part of his performance based podiatry care, Ben provides corrective exercise rehabilitation, biomechanical correction, footwear and orthotic management. Using the latest in digital video and pressure gait analysis software (Sensor Medica), coupled with specialised training in exercise science, Ben can identify specific areas of concern providing a unique and individualised treatment plan to help keep patients pain free and mobile in daily activities no matter what age.
Completing his training in the Diabetic Clinic at St. Vincent's Hospital (Darlinghurst) and working as a technician in orthotic manufacturing has provided Ben with expertise in wound care offloading, diabetic feet, prescription, fabrication and patient fitting of orthotic devices. Ben has gone on to further complete post graduate training in injection therapy technique at the Centre for Podiatric Surgery and Medicine. He has recently attended conferences through Australian Diabetes Educators Association to keep up to date with latest research and techniques. Ben holds membership with the Australian Podiatry Association.
Ben has the knowledge and experience to look after your feet no matter what your foot concerns may be. From Kokoda, Coastrek, Oxfam Trailwalker, triathlons and marathons - Ben has done them all! When Ben isn’t working you’ll find him swimming laps at North Sydney Pool, participating in North Sydney Parkrun or reeling in a catch at his local fishing spot down at Cremorne Point.
With over 14 years experience, Katie Nilan has become the foot and ankle specialist families can trust by providing best practice podiatry care on the Lower North Shore and in the suburbs of Neutral Bay, Cremorne, Mosman, Cammeray and surrounding areas.
Katie graduated with high distinction in postgraduate university studies in Diabetes Education and Management (University of Technology, Sydney) and completed her placement in the Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Department at the Royal North Shore Hospital in St. Leonards. This has lead her to have a good working relationship with the High Risk Foot Clinic & is able to help navigate best care practices for Diabetes care.
Katie is passionate about keeping up to date with the latest research and techniques to help maximise patient’s enjoyment in their chosen hobby and improve their quality of life. A special interest in Sports Podiatry has lead Katie to treat athletes from junior to Olympic level including runners, triathletes, bobsledders and mixed martial artists. Having represented Australia in Triathlon, Swimming and Surf Lifesaving herself, Katie understands the frustration involved with injury and the importance of efficient injury management.
Working under the tutelage of a podiatric surgeon for 4 years, Katie is well sound on the latest surgical techniques. To further compliment her studies, Katie has completed post graduate training in injection therapy technique at the Centre for Podiatric Surgery and Medicine.
