Nail Surgery (Partial or Total Nail Avulsion Surgery)
Nail Surgery is ideal for:
Chronic ingrown toenails
Recurring ingrown toenail despite frequent conservative care
Ingrown toenails that are negatively impacting your life causing significant pain & footwear fitting problems
Some ingrown toenails are reoccurring with ongoing incidences of pain and infection. Ingrown toenails develop for many reasons such as direct trauma, cutting of the toenail incorrectly, poor footwear choices, nail disease or a congenital problem.
While some patients only require simple, non surgical clearing of the nail, others require a minor surgical procedure called a partial nail avulsion. This procedure is performed under sterile conditions with local anaesthetic and is designed to permanently resolve your ingrowing nail. Pain is minimal and most patients return to school or work without minimal inconvenience.
